Customs Dep’t gets Takaful coverage

A TOTAL of 419 employees of the Royal Customs and Excise Department are now provided with Takaful (Islamic Insurance) protection after a recent agreement between the department and Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA).

 Under the agreement, employees of the department are covered under the company’s Group Personal Accident Takaful coverage plan, which includes coverage on death due to accident, total permanent disabilities due to accident and funeral expenses among others.

 

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is part of TBA’s ongoing drive towards providing 24 hour protection to personnel against casualties, took place at the Dewan Kyoto of the department.

Signing on behalf of TBA was Hj Shahrildin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Hj Jaya, the acting managing director of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries, and witnessed by Pg Hj Mohd Suffri Pg Hashim, the general manager of Takaful Brunei Am.

Meanwhile, the Royal Customs and Excise Department was represented by Ahmaddin Hj Abdul Rahman, controller of Royal Customs and Excise Department and witnessed by Assistant Controller Hj Abd Khalid Hj Abd Halim.

After the signing, a briefing on the protection plan was presented by Assistant General Manager of Underwriting and Retakaful Department, Roslan Hj Tahir.
