Custom's Law Enforcement Division gets $1.4 million building

THE Royal Customs and Excise Department held a foundation stone laying ceremony for its $1.4 million Law Enforcement Division office building at Kg Sungai Lampai, Jalan Kota Batu recently on 23 April 2015.

Present to officiate the foundation laying and as guest of honour was the Acting Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Maswadi Hj Mohsin.


Construction works for the project started in October last year and completion is expected this October.The building will replace the old Law Enforcement Division office building, which is located at the same vicinity and is under the 10th National Development Plan (RKN).

The office's construction is also aimed to ensure marine safety, especially in Sungai Brunei and Brunei Bay. The office building will house various facilities such as meeting room, prayer room, an observatory tower, st,ore and boat landing decks.

Yesterday's ceremony began with the recital of Surah Al-Fatihah by Enforcement Officer Kasim Hj Omar, followed by the pouring of concrete and stone to lay the foundation for the new building.

Architectural and contracting consultants briefed the guest of honour on the new building. Also present yesterday were Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu cum Acting Penghulu of Mukim Kianggeh, representatives from Public Works Department (JKR) as well as senior officials and enforcement officers from the Royal Customs and Excise Department.
