MOF holds Khatam Al-Quran

 TO ENLIVEN the holy month of Ramadhan, the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and its departments and divisions yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony at the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque, Prime Minister’s Office.

 The guest of honour at the event was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah, Acting Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office.

 Also in attendance were permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, directors, heads of departments and divisions as well as officers and staff members at the Ministry of Finance. The ceremony commenced with the reading of verses of Al-Quran and was followed by the recitation of Khatam Al-Quran prayer and Tahlil led by Awang Haji Muhammad Aslenan bin Haji Metussin, Imam of the Ash-Shaliheen Mosque. 

The event, which also saw distribution of waqaf comprising cleaning equipment for the use of the mosque, continued with the breaking of fast and Maghrib prayer. This year, the Ministry of Finance held Tedarus activities in three mosques, namely Kampong Pelambayan Mosque, Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah Mosque and Al-Ameerah Al Hajjah Maryam Mosque where several waqaf contribution were made by officers and staff of the ministry and its department and divisions. The Tedarus activities and the Khatam Al-Quran were organised by the Employees Trust Fund (TAP).
